NEW FARM-TO-TABLE SEASONAL DINNER SERIES!
A Quivira Farm-To-Table dinner will be held in each season:
Summer - July 25, 2009
Fall - October 10, 2009
Winter - February 13, 2010

Saturday, May 16, 4:00pm Farm Tour & 5:30pm Dinner
at Quivira Vineyards & Winery, Healdsburg
Spring: The Living Soil with farmer/chef Doug Nicosia
Cost: $125 / $115 Slow Food Members / $105 Queue Members
At this inaugural dinner, we'll enjoy the flavors of spring fresh from the Quivira farm to the wine country table.  Guests will be greeted with a glass of crisp, cold Quivira Rose and appetizers as they meander through the farm, learning about the philosphy and techniques associated with Biodynamic farming and seeing first-hand the rich, dark soil and verdant results.  Winemaker/grower Steven Canter, farm manager Andrew Beedy and other Quivira staff will host educational stations throughout the garden where they will discuss practices for maintaining the health and balance of the soil-a key goal of Biodynamic farming-including practices that guests can apply to their home gardens such as composting, cover crops, "teas" and "preps."  Guests will then enjoy a tour of the vineyard before they join together at the beautiful farm table to share in the evening's feast paired, of course, with Quivira wines.  Chef-farmer Doug Nicosia has created a gorgeous, fresh menu that truly highlights the diverse bounty that comes from the Quivira soil, just inches from the table, including several Slow Food Ark of Taste* ingredients.
