Grilled Steak & Gorgonzola

INGREDIENTS
  • New York Strip steaks
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Gorgonzola cheese
  • Butter
  • Fresh ground pepper and salt
  • Quivira Petite Sirah
DIRECTIONS
  • Roll Steak in crushed black pepper and small amount of salt.
  • Marinade in mixture (see below) for about 30 minutes (the longer the better).
MARINADE
  • 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/3 cup Quivira Petite Sirah
DIRECTIONS
  • Prepare topping for cooked steak. Combine gorgonzola cheese with butter in a 1:1 mixture.
  • Leave at room temperature.
  • Start charcoal fire and let burn down to medium heat. Cook to desired doneness.
  • Put gorgonzola butter on top of steak and serve.
WINE PAIRING
  • Serve with lots of Quivira Petite Sirah!
