Zinfandel Brownies

INGREDIENTS
  • 4 oz. bitter chocolate
  • ¾ cup (1 ½ sticks) butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp. real vanilla
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Quivira Vineyards Standley Ranch Zinfandel reduced to 1/4 cup
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
DIRECTIONS
  • Melt chocolate and butter together in a double boiler.
  • Combine eggs, sugar and vanilla in another double boiler and heat to 100 to 110 degrees.
  • Then whip in a mixer until medium peaks form.
  • Mix melted chocolate with Zinfandel and butter and then combine with the egg mixture.
  • Fold in flour and half of the walnuts.
  • Spread batter in a greased 9x13 pan and sprinkle remaining walnuts on top.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until desired texture is reached.
