The 90-acres of Quivira estate vineyards have been sustainably farmed since they were first planted in back in 1961. Our team today at Quivira shares that same commitment to producing the best quality wine possible from our estate fruit utilizing farming methods that emphasize sustainability and minimal impact. Tony Castellanos, Quivira Vineyard Manager, has been farming the Wine Creek Ranch vineyard for over 25 years. The consistency and health of our vineyards is in large part a result of his dedication and commitment to farming the land with the least amount of impact for the best expression of its fruit possible.

Our winemaking practices focus on small, individual lot fermentation and ageing, so as to preserve as much of each vineyard block’s flavor profile and unique identity.

Steven Canter's personal approach to winegrowing and winemaking can be stated simply as "great wine is truly made in the vineyard. I resist the urge to 'mess' with the grapes anymore than necessary".
